SCP-173

SCP-173 is a humanoid entity considered one of the most dangerous and iconic anomalies contained by the SCP Foundation. Its appearance resembles a crude statue constructed from concrete, rebar, and spray paint. At first glance, SCP-173 appears completely motionless. However, this impression is deceptive. Whenever no living being is directly observing it, the creature is capable of moving at extremely high speed, crossing several meters in a fraction of a second. When it reaches a victim, SCP-173 typically attacks by snapping the target's neck or inflicting instantly fatal injuries. This ability makes containment exceptionally difficult. To prevent SCP-173 from moving, constant eye contact must be maintained at all times. Containment personnel therefore enter its chamber in groups and verbally announce when they blink to ensure that at least one person continues observing the entity. Another strange phenomenon associated with SCP-173 is the regular appearance of unknown organic substances within its containment chamber. Despite extensive analysis, the exact origin of these deposits remains unexplained. Because of its unique behavior, SCP-173 has become one of the most recognizable anomalies in the SCP universe and remains a symbol of the SCP Foundation for fans around the world.
