Story
On July 1, 1965, in the lavender fields of Valensole in Provence, farmer Maurice Masse reported seeing a strange craft resting on the ground.
According to his testimony, the object was egg-shaped and stood on several metallic supports. Nearby were two small beings wearing unusual suits.
When Maurice Masse approached to get a closer look, the creatures allegedly pointed a device at him that caused temporary paralysis.
Moments later, the beings reportedly returned to the craft, which silently lifted into the air before disappearing at high speed.
Investigators documented unusual ground traces and changes in the surrounding vegetation near the alleged landing site.
The case quickly attracted media attention and became one of the most famous UFO incidents in France.
To this day, the Valensole Incident remains a major reference in French ufological history.
